Cub Scout photos

Posted on November 18, 2008 at 2:58 pm

I finally got around to sorting through the pictures from Corwin’s Den outing on the 8th. I threw together a photoBlog of them and setup a Shutterfly Share Site for people to grab them.

A family visit

Cynthia’s sister is in town this weekend. They got to spend to spend some time together spending the day at some art craft fair. I got to spend some play time with the kids. I don’t know how she got up the energy, but after walking around for hours, she stopped by the house and took the kids to the mall so they could see their aunt and get out of the house for a while.

After watching cartoons, playing Trouble, making lunch, reading (both me to them and them to me), and a movie, I was rather spent and took the opportunity for a nap to recover. I am betting the kids will be quite tired when they get home. I may have to break out my ‘Daddy Magic’ and see if I can carry them from the van to bed without waking them. I seem to have better luck attempting that maneuver than Cynthia does :)

The over-tired glossy-eyed look they can get after a late night out really brings me a warm feeling. I can’t wait for them to get home.

1.3 mile hike

Saturday, Corwin and I went on a small hike with his Tiger Cub Scout den. It was cold, windy, and a lot of fun. Unfortunately, we forgot gloves, and I was also without a hat. After getting used to the temperature it was actually not too bad.

I ended up taking a fair number of pictures and will be uploading them soon.

Halloween

Halloween is one of my favorite holidays, that I know of, and I am looking forward to trick-or-treating with my kids. I have decided to go as one of my aliens and once again experience the fun of other people’s reactions, although I will probably look more normal than doing it in July!

Art is my home, I discovered at an early age, and sometimes come pretty close to what I can only describe as a kind of oneness. I have a high degree of control over pen and pencil so when I switch to color and other media, I feel a bit lost. However, I have felt the depth that color can reach and I have a plan. Shoring up support, inspiration, and a persistence of vision, I feel open to what may come. In the meantime, I can’t wait til Friday!
